When Jihad came to Istanbul, he saw how difficult it was to find the ingredients Syrians needed. Now, his shop has everything for the Syrian kitchen.

Realising how little he knew about the rural fringes of his city, Istanbul artist Serkan Taycan began mapping outlying areas – until he had created a 60 kilometres long walking route.
For years, Istanbul’s Grand Bazaar disappointed me. I wanted to time-travel to the bazaar that Italian novelist Edmondo De Amicis described in 1877.
