Sam McNeil

Sam McNeil is a multimedia journalist concerned with justice. He has written articles from the southern and eastern Mediterranean, filmed and photographed in the Levant, authored a southern African travelogue called Wazungu through the Bundu and covered the Sonoran desert. A Tejano de Austin by birth, he’s roosted in Washington, D.C., Seattle, Bellingham, Tunis, Knysna, Dar es Salam, Johannesburg, Ramallah, and Tucson. He is currently based in between Tunis and Cairo, where he is an Overseas Press Club fellow with the Associated Press TV Network. His documentary A Siege of Salt and Sand about "climate chaos" in Tunisia is making the festival circuit too, and he is crafting a multimedia tale of the Mediterranean's climate history at the dawn of the Anthropocene.
