Casablanca by night

In Noctyl, young Moroccan director Hamza Benkirane takes us on a nightly tour of Casablanca. With the perspective of his camera, we drive through the white city’s empty yet fascinating streets. Subtly, Benkirane captures some of the shadowy characters that are haunting the darkness. In one of his previous videos, also dedicated to Casablanca, he used time-lapse techniques to depict the relentless pace of modern life in a place that is, according to him, losing its soul in order to look like a Western city.
